pride in our community: a free roof for someone in need

C&L Ward is giving the gift of shelter during the holiday season. We will give away a free installed asphalt roof to a homeowner who has fallen on hard times and cannot to afford to replace a failing roof. ABC Supply Co. inc. and GFL Environmental have partnered with us and will donate all of the shingles for the new roof and the dumpster for the installation.

From November 22nd – December 6, 2022, we will be taking applications for our “Shingles for Shelter” roof giveaway.

Winner announced on December 20, 2022, with the roof being installed in the spring of 2023.

Eligibility

Entrants must be 21 years of age or older
Nominee must be the owner of the home

How to Enter

Visit this web page after November 22nd
Submit an online entry form including both a written statement on why the nominee deserves a new roof + a photo or video of current roof on the home

Judging

Entries will be judged on:

Current roof condition
Circumstances / merit
Presentation quality

Breast Cancer Awareness

Each year in October, our team participates in the Real Men Wear Pink campaign, led by the American Cancer Society. Employees who participate in this program wear pink and obtain pledges throughout October to raise money for this cause. Additionally, we raise money for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Our fundraising events toward this cause include themed T-shirt sales, in-office bake sales, a Penny Wars competition, 50/50 raffles, and pizza lunches.

Stuff the Truck

Our Stuff the Truck event is another way we give back to the community. The goal of this program is to fill one or more C&L Ward trucks with donation items. These may include canned goods and other non-perishable food, toiletries, warm clothing, blankets, and more. Monetary donations are also accepted, as we collect donations from our employees and other members of the community. Everything collected in the Stuff the Truck event is provided to a local non-profit dedicated to helping community members in need.

Shingles for Shelter

Shingles for Shelter is a C&L Ward program that gives back to the community. Each holiday season around November, we offer a free installed asphalt roof to a homeowner in need. To select a Shingles for Shelter giveaway recipient, we consider things like current roof condition, circumstances, and presentation quality. In short, we offer homeowners a fresh start.
